American Rockabilly
Next Honkytonk Openmic
Sunday May 13, 2007
We're happy to have Hilary and Mimi from Hogzilla joining us at the next Honkytonk
Hootenanny, Sunday, May 13th!
"Hogzilla is a haphazard confection of alt. bluegrass/country originals and popular
americana tunes. Hilary Hawke formed Hogzilla as a side project to playing banjo with Jan
Bell and the Cheap Dates. The band formed in NYC out of a mutual interest of liking to
play together, and amazingly, they all still like to play together! A female banjo and guitar
led band, Hilary and Mimi are joined by the incredible shenanigans o Roger Grossman
(upright bass), Jacob Tilove (mandolin) and Joe Humel on drums. Definitely a charming
group, with songs that have sincere lyrics, sweet singing, and an emphasis on good times!
Danceable! Catchy-but not like a fish; Country-but on the Alt side; Banjo-on the Bluegrass
side!"
Don't forget on May 13th we also will Feature Al Duvall, Jeph Duarte (JD and the WWJDs),
and Tom Bouman (the Flanks). For info and MP3s from our Features, check out
